Trump's Organization Sought to Hire Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its recruitment of overseas employees on temporary visas this period, while his administration was creating barriers for other businesses attempting to do the identical, an analysis published Thursday stated.

According to data from the federal labor department, the business sought to hire at least 184 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the former president’s Florida property, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas for workers including waitstaff, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the highest ever filed by the company, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth time in 10 years that Trump had attempted to hire over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The disclosure coincides with a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has included the introduction of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the 55 million people who possess American work permits; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and journalists.

In total, the Trump Organization aimed to employ over 560 overseas workers over the five years Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Significantly, the former president was questioned by some in the GOP this period for comments defending the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to invest billions to build a facility, and going to take people off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It isn’t feasible that well,” he told a interviewer after it was implied that foreign workers undercut the wages of US workers.

The White House refused a request for comment, and the business did not provide an answer to an request for information.
